Staff is extremely friendly and helpful; rooms are clean and bed was comfy. I will book again at Castillo Real.

Even with a reduced price...
Liked: The location is good.
Disliked: The facility is undergoing a major renovation which I'm sure will be nice when finished but it was not ready for guests when we visited. Our room and bathroom were very dark and didn't have enough light. The phone wasn't working so we couldn't reach the desk. The in-room coffee service was terrible. The pool was unheated and was unswimmable. The breakfast option was a bag with a granola bar and an orange.

Exceptional
Liked: I love how close the property was to the beach.
Disliked: The construction but it wasn't really that bad. The water pressure in the shower was awful.

Not worth the money
Disliked: I'm not sure how they can call themselves a resort. The pool was not heated. The place is under construction. There were no amenities offered. We had to pay for parking. The water pressure was horrible.

The only thing good about...
Liked: Closeness to the beach
Disliked: The shower head was broken. The sheets were worn and Pilly. I had to request a new set. We only had two towels and one washcloth for two adults. No light over the mirror in the bathroom. We were charged 10.00 per night to park the car in the lot. Not enough closet space. The beds seemed messy and linens were very old and worn. I do not think we will return to this hotel!

Not worth the discounted price...
Liked: The location and the bed was great.
Disliked: Some of the room was clean. Some not. Some live bugs. There was no soap , no lights, no chair, no wash cloths, no art work. the fire alarm was disconnected. Yes I took pictures. Yes I complained at the time. Yes I asked to speak to a manager. No they never came. All I heard was that they were under renovation, all the rooms were like that and that I had “got the room discounted”. On the way out, I asked the clerk to look at the room with me as I wasn’t happy. He began with the renovation conversation, that I need to speak with the manager, that the manager didn’t see me the day before as they only worked 9-5 ( it was 10am but the manager wasn’t around). I knew that they were under renovation as the were becoming a Hilton Tapestry property. Hilton will have their hands full.
