Liked: Location perfect for daily walks to bluffs, beach and restaurants

Lousy on so many levels.

Liked: The price was not comparable to the amenities and the quality of which the hotel had any. It was like Motel 6 on steroids. Even parking was tight. It’s not a place as a leisure traveler, retired would recommend to my age friends and family.

A nice hotel walking distance...

Liked: This is our 3rd time staying in Castillo Inn at the Beach. We keep on coming back because of the location to the beach, restaurants, and stores. The bed is comfortable, always clean, and the room rate is acceptable. The staff here are so friendly and provide good service. Parking is free and the location is generally quiet. We love this hotel!

Nice place for short stay

Liked: Front desk guys were extremely helpful and nice explaining attractions near the hotel. Well maintained property but the room was a bit dated.

A nice motel right by...

Liked: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were late arriving and they called to check on us around 5:00pm and 9:00pm, and offered to make arrangements so we could still get our key if we showed up after hours. They also gave us a good recommendation to a local bakery for breakfast.The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was no noise from the street and we got a good night's sleep. The bathroom was also spacious with OK water pressure in the shower. We were able to park right outside our door which made loading & unloading our luggage easy.The marina is just a few minute's walk, and there is a beautiful beach just a short ways after that. We were in town for a UCSB campus visit so we did not visit the beach, but I can see the location is great for those who are. Likewise the Santa Barbara downtown area is just a short drive away, so the location overall is excellent.
Disliked: One set of ceiling lights kept blinking or wavering, about once a minute. Fortunately they were on a separate switch so we could just turn those off and still keep the room illuminated.We paid extra for a patio room but it's not worth it. We expected a sort of sunny, outdoorsy space looking out at landscaping or maybe a pool. Instead it's just concrete with a high wood fence around it, since the parking lot is on the other side of the fence. Not really a pleasant space to go sit in.

Disliked: There is a warehouse next to the room, which is a bit noisy in the morning，There is no shower in the bathing area, which makes it inconvenient to bathe young children.
