Great place to stay, wonderful...
Liked: The experience was wonderful until, during the night the consequences of the terrible cuisinery came out. I felt sick like never before and had intoxication-like physical complications. I suffer from Celiac disease and something has been neglected by the food staff, bringing my health down to -500Additional note: Despite a card announces the presence of hybrid washlet in ALL rooms, mine, the 807, doesn't have it¹

Great venue for family stay
Liked: Wonderful venue that has been restored sympathetically. It is not ultra luxury but that means that the feel of the original castle was maintained. Staff were exceptional (especially Krystale on reception) and organised a tour of the castle at short notice. Spa also very good quality.
Disliked: Beds are a little firm.

unusual settling but not value...
Liked: location and unusualness being a castle
Disliked: room too small and a long walk up and down stairs to carparking ( not good for people with knee replacements)

Exceptional customer service and beautiful...
Liked: This is a beautiful castle with lots to explore, my kids loved it, including my oldest (husband) lol! But most of all the front desk people are the most welcoming and helpful. I forgot the name of the gentleman, but he went above and beyond!!! I wished we had a longer stay to explore more and had more time to go down to town.
Disliked: Everything was great!

A fantastic short spa break
Liked: The spa was amazing and the grounds are very impressive. We also really enjoyed the local hiking options and the the town.

Nice, but a bit overrated
Liked: The building is historically impressive and the views are beautiful.
Disliked: Whoever said on here that this place resembles a museum, rather than a hotel, was spot on. It's a vast building and thus a little disjointed. Views are gorgeous and the history is interesting, but it's not cozy. Our room was a bit dated, the lobby bar was not open on any of our days, and the hotel's restaurant bar was somewhat generic. Hanging out in a welcoming environment was not really possible, so we were either in our room, or went down to the town for meals and drinks.
