Cozy Comfortable Quiet Oasis Right...

Liked: We absolutely loved our stay at Castel d'Amerique Francaise. Jolanta was a wonderful host -- she even taught us how to make her delicious yogurt, which we've successfully replicated at home. The location was so close to everything we wanted to see, the entire property was scrupulously clean (seriously, I don't even understand how it was so clean; I could not find any dusty decorations or light fixtures or spots under the bed). I honestly don't think I've ever stayed somewhere that was this clean. The beds, pillows, sheets, and duvets were super comfortable and cozy. The entire house was so warm and cozy every time we'd come in from the brutal cold. We could control the heat in our room and bathroom so that we were always comfortable. And we both really enjoyed the breakfast. Others have complained about a lack of fruit or hot items, but we really enjoyed the home-baked breads, the jams, the selection of local cheeses, the vast assortment of teas, and most of all the home-made yogurt and toppings. Jolanta was so helpful with everything, and we really enjoyed getting to know some of the other guests. One final thought is how blissfully quiet the property was despite it being full of other guests. Obviously we had the windows closed given the frigid temperatures, and our room faced the courtyard, but we couldn't hear any street noise, vehicles, or noises from other guests. It was so completely restful and relaxing once you got back from an activity-filled day in the city. One final note is that if you go in the winter, you will be required to remove your snowy boots at the door and leave them on a boot tray in the hall. There is a nice basket of slippers for you to borrow, but if that's not for you, then be sure to pack your own. We will definitely be returning here if we're ever in Quebec again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Disliked: The only think I could possibly think of would be a way to make a cup of coffee right in the room, but that's really just me being lazy on vacation and not wanting to put on clothes to grab a cup downstairs right when I get out of bed.

Liked: The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, good water pressure and temperature. Location was great.
Disliked: The stairs with suitcases but I knew ahead of time. It wasn’t a dealbreaker as long as you know.
