Lovely trip to Carmel with...

Liked: Loved the walks, the fire pit, the store, the spa, the pool. Bathrooms are fantastic, outdoor bath is lovely. Excellent servers at the main restaurant.
Disliked: No mini bar or snacks in the room, tough reheated chicken on room service Caesar salad, decor looks a little old fashioned now, it could use an upgrade. However very family friendly and relaxed.

Great getaway!

Liked: Hiking, hot tub, organic garden. Great food.
Disliked: Nothing

Expensive and disappointing stay

Liked: The room was large.
Disliked: Very expensive. Should have cost 20% of what it actually did. The pool and fitness center are very far from the accommodations - you need a car or a shuttle. Beds are much too soft. There's no shower curtain so it's very cold to take the shower. Completely gold costs 25$ per person. The scavenger hunt game isn't well designed.

Very disappointed in the service...

Liked: The view was beautiful, the shuttle service from the room to the main lobby and restaurant was great.
Disliked: Did not get the room I booked, was not offered a nicer room but the standard room. Was told that it was because I booked through a third party and not direct. They did credit me back for my room and offered a voucher for the restaurant. Was told that the room was almost ready for early checkout which was a lie. The room thermostat was not working. It took facilities about an hour to finally come and look at it. There were wet spots in our room which was really weird on the carpet. We were told we would get bath salts and bubble bath added to the room as a “sorry” but that didn’t happen. The restaurant service was great but the food was subpar. We ordered room service the next morning (simple toast, bagel and coffees) and it took over an hour to get to us.I was just really disappointed in the overall experience. There was a wedding happening at the time we stayed but it still was just too many bad impressions. Really sad because we travel to Carmel frequently and thought this may be a new place for us to stay while we are there.
