The location was great but...

Liked: There was no hotel breakfast and the location was perfect. I liked the clean white sheets and towels.
Disliked: The maid who cleans the rooms was very rude and so unprofessional. I asked her for a bag and she asked me "For what" like 3 times. After telling her I have wet clothes, she says "NO!" I felt like that was the wrong answer she didn't want to hear and thats why I didn't get a bag. I didn't understand why she needed to know what I needed the bag for, if you didn't have a bag then all you say is no.... instead she asked me "For what", almost like she was upset that I asked. Her demeanor was so rude and unprofessional. The smell of my room was very bad in room 25 has a moldy, mildew, smell that gave me a headache after the first night. It was very hard for me to sleep through the night. The price of the room isn't worth it. I also got unexpected holds on my debit card after checking out. I got a hold for $418, $453, and at 2 a.m. they tried charging or holding $209, and my bank had to text me to say they declined because of fraudulent charges. My total cost of my stay for 2 days was $543 so I don't understand why my card was having an authorization hold for over $500.

Good central location, onsite parking...

Liked: The room was clean and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. We chose this hotel because there were two separate beds. Its central location was very convenient for the town's restaurants shops and cafes and parking more or less next to our roomWe thought it was value for money, given the town of Carmel.
Disliked: The fan in the room could not be turned off and as the weather was on the turn, we did not need it on. Reception staff could not either so it needs fixing. The decor is a bit tired now and will need updating in due course.

Liked: Beds were hard and incredibly uncomfortable. Had a window that within inches was a wall. The floors were filthy. The place felt unclean. Bedding was not great. Construction was going on and the workers were loud we had to leave for awhile. Not worth the money.
Disliked: I liked the location and staff was very helpful and friendly.
