Exceptional

Liked: The room was very clean and comfortable with a very good ensuite. The dinner was very good and, although breakfast was slightly haphazard , cooked items were very tasty. The hotel is a lovely base for local hillwalking.
Disliked: At breakfast there was no "breakfast bar" set out with choices of cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice etc but were available on request.

Liked: Nice small hotel in great location for visiting the Scottish Border region. Accommodation was good and food very good. Staff deserve top marks

Liked: The staff and food were absolutely amazing, the rooms were perfect and had everything you needed after being out all day.
Disliked: Parking wasn’t overly secure, but, was safe enough for the 2 nights we were there.

Liked: Breakfast excellent, room comfortable albeit a bit dated . Staff very welcoming and location excellent for anyone travelling to Edinburgh or beyond as we were.
Disliked: Heating a bit hit and miss

Liked: Loved the bedroom had tea and coffee and cookies, host, the breakfast was amazing got a lot food, teas, coffees and juices!! Such a cozy ambience especially with their fireplace on.
Disliked: Hot water took too long to heat up for a shower. The trucks/ cars were a little loud driving past on the main road which our room was near.

Exceptional

Liked: The staff were so welcoming, especially the manager, Paul, who was such a great host. Perfect short stay for our travels.
