Liked: Staff were lovely and really accommodating for us for dinner as I have a dairy allergy. Zen Thai Restaurant was really yummy and staff were very polite. Location is lovely and the building is gorgeous. Receptionist at the spa was really sweet and checked I was okay with products for my treatments. Bed was really comfy and room was big. A nice night away and much needed but my honest opinion is the property needs some TLC and guests should be allowed to wear clothes down to the spa!
Disliked: Room wasn't clean. Carpet and chairs were dirty, cutlery also dirty. Bathroom needed repainting and there was mould on the sealants around the bath, I appreciate an old building but a 4.5 star hotel needs to pay attention to detail, the TV was so wonky on the wall which was funny at the time but also not acceptable quality. The hotel and spa were so warm it wasn't as relaxing as it could have been and the massage chairs were uncomfortable to lay face down on. Spa was okay for the package deal for 2 but overpriced and seemed confusing layout wise, lots of corridors and stairs. Walking around half naked when you arent allowed to change in the spa if you are a guest? Finally, if breakfast is included in the room price, you should not charge guests extra for wanting something hot. As someone with a dairy allergy my options for continental was bread, cereal or some old fruit that looked like it'd been out for some time. We did however really enjoy the hot breakfast and it wasn't too expensive as an extra, but it shouldn't be an extra at all.

A refreshing short break in...

Liked: Fabulous location in middle of New Forest. Clean in all the important places and very nice staff
Disliked: A little tired, furnishings could do with a refresh. Some of the ‘extras’ seemed overpriced.

Liked: Excellent pool and lovely bar lounge.
Disliked: Room replenishment not 100%. Only one cup replaced. Continental breakfast a little dull and again replenishment not 100%.
