Liked: Always stay here when we visit Cardiff , last nights visit wasn't so nice. The heating in our room wasn't working so ended up sleeping with our coats on top of the quilt. We told reception this morning on departure and was given complimentary car parking which we appreciated but would have preferred to be warm

Good hotel, not great but...

Liked: The hotel is lovely, the restaurant is great and the room was spacious and very clean. The staff were polite and friendly. The beds were spacious and comfortable. The car park felt very secure and there were a lot of spaces available. The location is unbeatable and so useful for shopping and dining in the city centre.
Disliked: Even with multiple lifts there was a bit of a wait when busy to get to and from the upper floors. I felt like the lifts ran slowly, so if you’re claustrophobic the upper floors aren’t for you. We were on the ‘quiet’ side of the building and while we had no disturbances from other guests, the sound of water draining from neighbouring rooms was surprisingly loud at night. It woke us up more than once. The coffee in the room is truly awful. I recommend bringing your own if you don’t mind instant, or just hold on and have coffee in the restaurant where it’s excellent. The ladies public bathrooms on the ground floor weren’t clean.

Disliked: Noise from clubs opposite until around 5am and the fire alarm going off intermittently at around 2am which the front of house didn’t really know how to deal with the guests.

Generally good but let down...

Liked: I got a parking ticket due to using the bus lane to access the car park. Look online many folk have had the same. If you dont know the roads - expect a ticket. Get a room on the sea view side or expect noise.
Disliked: The first room the aircon was broken. The second room was noisy dues to night club and bars nearby. Didn't sleep well. Was offered a 50% refund but havent seen it !
