Fabulous and outstanding hotel in...

Liked: Stunning 15th century castle having the footprints of Mary Queen of Scots turned into a lovely 21st century modern hotel having a huge library on the first floor,friendly and welcoming staff,nice and clean room with a wonderful garden view

3 star hotel in 5...

Liked: Great location and the public rooms were great.Staff were friendly
Disliked: The bedroom was cramped .So much so I hit the roof several times .It was dated and in dire need of decoration.The breakfast was poor and the choice very limited.The Hotel has a great story to tell but sadly there was no information in the room.

Lovely location and grounds, exactly...

Liked: Good choice of food for breakfast and a friendly atmosphere. The dinner was also good although the room was really hot! The food was tasty and plentiful.
Disliked: We requested two beds but got one double. It was difficult to get into the bathroom as the space was very tight. Could have also had more complimentary items in the bathroom such as a vanity kit or shower cap. No hotels seem to have tissues either although I don't know why.

Beautiful yet disappointing

Liked: Beautiful Manor house with stunning communal spaces and historic features. Clean and helpful staff. Good breakfast and great breakfast staff.
Disliked: The bedroom was small, dated and in need of TLC. No hot water in the shower. Evening meal in restaurant not of the expected standard. Soggy fish and chips, poor value for money starters. At no point did the staff ask about how our food was or how the stay had been at the end. We would have been happy to offer some constructive feedback.

Liked: Atmosphere in the hotel was very pleasant.
Disliked: Breakfast could have been better. Limited choice for the price and they ran out of ingredients at 9.15 (mushrooms) and the breakfast sitting didn't end until 10am.

Exceptional

Gorgeous mansion house and estate

Liked: Loved exploring the mansion house. Our dinner and cocktails were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only regret not giving ourselves more time to explore the property outside. Since we arrived after sunset and left before sunrise.
Disliked: Had no complaints.

Very lovely mansion with great...

Liked: The room was lovely and comfortable. Grounds were relaxing to wander. Everyone was very nice and friendly. The hotel its self was great to se and research the history of the mansion. Front desk staff very helpful
Disliked: The only problem was the food. The dinner was a bit disappointing with very tough roast beef, and the hot breakfast unfortunately was cold. Cold eggs and bacon. I was really looking forward to breakfast. Otherwise the stay was nice.
