Quirky hotel with great staff.

Liked: Loved the quirkiness, such a great hotel.. Restaurant was fabulous!
Disliked: Room was very small, bathroom was extremely small and not great to use.

Fantastic overnight stay

Liked: Second stay at this hotel. Stayed in a royal suite this time which was amazing. Had dinner in hotel at night. Again really good with excellent service. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

Fabulous unique experience. Delicious meal...

Liked: Setting. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly but not intrusive staff from reception to bar and restaurant chef and wait staff.The gardens ,views and mansions interior decor are opulent and sumptuous Loved the library and music room which contrasted perfectly with the restaurant, roaring fire and nooks and crannies, staircases and artworks. Bartender (Prestonpans finest ambassador!) The very capable,astute and delightful waitress and Ian for the tastiest chips!
Disliked: While it is understood requests are not a given it was very disappointing that the shower(instead of the requested bath)was only warm to cold . This has been an issue for earlier guests yet doesn't seem to have been addressed and rectified. A tepid shower in January in Scotland is not good for most!

Liked: Location, very friendly staff, bar available after 10pm. Lovely poached eggs.
Disliked: Fish was too soggy.My avocado had chilli oil on, but wasn't stated in the menu.
