Canopy by Hilton Memphis Downtown, Memphis

Displeased with experience.

Liked: The ambience of the main lobby is very appealing.
Disliked: I had such high hopes for the Canopy of Memphis, since it’s almost a must every time I'm in New Orleans. Upon arrival my significant other brought to my attention that the bathroom shower hadn’t been cleaned, and seemed to almost be mold on the floor. We wear our shower shoes but it was still rather unpleasant. So we informed the front desk and they moved our room. Shortly after settling in the next room we realized the cooling drawer didn’t work and we had some items we’d like to keep cool during our stay. We hated to sound needy but we informed the desk and needless to say my milk wasn’t drinkable after day one. And again we really hated to sound needy but you leave us no choice when you leave a total of 6 squares on the tissue role. I was very disappointed during our check in process. The personal at the front desk were nice but house keeping was not.

Liked: This hotel was extremely clean, and the staff matched with friendliness! On site bar and restaurant were fantastic! The location is absolute perfection to everywhere you want to go without having to drive! This will be our stay every time we visit Memphis!

Liked: The location was perfect. Walking distance to Beale Street and FedEx forum
Disliked: Room was dirty and very disappointing. The shower was molded and stained, old urine on the floors like it was not mopped before we came and carpet was stained, walls were dirty. $ 1000 in a room for a basic hotel and hotel experience is insane and this definitely was not worth the money. Housekeeping did not come to our room all weekend and it was a struggle to get towels. Overall, horrible. I would not come back. Fire Alarm went off , no fire. Even if it was a drill( which we were not told) , it would’ve been nice to be informed at 8am instead of us having panicking trying to figure out what’s going on or if we need to leave.
