Stylish Hotel In a Great...

Liked: The good -- great location in downtown Asheville. Walkable. Very stylish hotel, stylish room, especially if you like spare, sleek design. Very comfortable bed, too, and nice, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. Valet parking staff very quick on their feet and pleasant. Restaurant pleasant with good staff but good-not-great food. It was too cold to sit outside when I was there but the outside seating looked great.
Disliked: First, I didn't know that valet parking was required at $19/day. May have missed it on website. The very first valet that met me didn't know anything about the rules (such as free in/out all day) or even the cost (I didn't see him again and other valet guys were great). Second, he was an indication that the staff needs to be a little more well trained. Then there were some little things. I wanted to buy an orange from the self-serve area. The cost was $2 -- which struck me as a little much for a place trying to be so classy, but whatever. However, the front desk couldn't change a $5 bill. I walked away.
