Heavenly.
Liked: Everything was wonderful. Breakfast was lovely. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable. The place was spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is warm and stylish. You could sit in the library and play chess. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: I liked everything.

Great stay an
Liked: What a superb weekend. Wonderfully nestled in the middle of Killarney and is quiet away from the main road. Staff were so very welcoming and accommodating especially, JP and (bar staff) and young gentleman with glasses in FOH. We stayed in the Herbert Suite, what a wonderful room in the hotel. It was a pleasure to wake up in. Value was excellent, compared to other BlueBook Properties in Ireland and UK, I think this is a little gem and worth visiting.
Disliked: Very few noticeable items - Check-in was a little slow to begin with - no member of staff was present. I understand that they physically don't have the number of staff to accommodate FOH at all times, but it is noticeable at times. Some aspects of the hotel, which reopened after the winter during our stay, was lacking in soft furnishings and 'comfort' items in some parts of the hotel, most particularly, the room off reception where piano sits (also relocate same). Cellar Bar is lacking atmosphere, considering its location in the old cellar of the house - work on this. The use of battery operated candles, is over kill - it would be one thing to have them turned-on 'lighting', leaving some off and others on, is not great and is very tacky. Keep them to a minimum throughout the hotel, or get rid of them and focus on using real candles to specialised areas where they can be supervised and at least give off natural light. overall, few notable items.

Pleasant.
Liked: The staff paid us personal attention. Loved the kind note greeting us in our relaxing quaint room. Beauty ALL around. Amazing presentation of food! If traveling and in need of a historic place to stay, do yourself a favor and spend a night and day there!
Disliked: Maybe an ice machine but the kitchen gave us plenty of ice!
