Originally built in the early 1900s as a private house Higher Trapp has been magnificently converted into a country hotel with 29 tastefully decorated bedrooms 2 function rooms and a locally renowned restaurant. Disliked: When we tried to book in reception could not find our room. We were then allocated a large single room (for two people) as it was the only room left. After leaving, the hotel charged for the original double room booked. This was later refunded after several complaints were made. No compensation was given despite it being the hotels fault. Mattress was covered in stains. Would not stay again.

Liked: The receptionist, Millie, was very helpful, polite and friendly. Her colleague, Georgina, was also very polite and friendly when she phoned to enquire if we wanted to book breakfast .
