Meh

Liked: Clean comfortable room. Close to where we needed to be.
Disliked: Staff at front desk and in the spa were brash and although to the point, weren't particularly friendly. We arrived just after 7 pm after a 3 hour journey and had to enter the spa by 7.30, then we were kicked out at 7.45 so they could shut at 8pm on the dot!The food was expensive and not particularly great.

Adequate for a stopover

Liked: Reception were very welcoming and professional. Hotel is set in lovely grounds. Ample car parking. Room size adequate. Room got too hot overnight.
Disliked: Overall the whole place is in need of some major TLC. Everything from the furniture to the decor seemed very jaded. Bar prices are astronomical! We didn't eat in the restaurant but friends of ours did and they found the food very basic. There is a conference centre onsite and unfortunately our room turned out to be next door to some rowdy delegates who thought it was a good idea to party on past 3am..

Friendly atmosphere

Liked: Gym and pool facilities were great. Food was excellent and overall a nice friendly atmosphere around the reception seating area.
Disliked: Plenty of parking and the quality of the food.
