Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Comfy but dated rooms, super...

Liked: Room was comfy but dated. Reception and housekeeping staff I all spoke to were delightful.
Disliked: Room was OK, bed was comfy and the fan helped with the lack of air con but I wouldn’t like to try that out in peak summertime. Hotel is labelled as a 4* but it can’t be when the rooms have peeling and scuffed wallpaper. Bathroom and hotel amenities all to satisfactory standard. This really wouldn’t be a £90 a night hotel if it was anywhere other than embedded into an actual stadium. But the convenience is sorta worth the price. The door staff however were awful. I was aggressively chased down by the same bloke 4 times demanding to see a “ticket” (for I assume some matchday hospitality they host) when I was just returning to my room. I understand they don’t want unticketed people in their hospitality areas but badgering hotel guests, especially ones you’ve already spoken to and I’ve shown you my room key 3 other times is honestly just unacceptable. I’m glad I bit my tongue the fourth time because I was really quite annoyed at that point and would’ve ended up saying something I’d have regretted. Put a sour taste in what was a comfortable and pleasant stay, despite the result of the football match.

Very good

Liked: Always love staying here. As a lifelong bolton wanderers fan, having a view into the stadium is always great.
Disliked: Please can you add a socket next to the bed. Having to charge my phone half way across the room is frustrating. Everything else is perfect.

Superb

Liked: I was given a very quiet room. I liked the layout - room doors were not all in a line on a long corridor as in most hotels but at an angle offering more privacy when going in and out of your room.

Very good

Liked: The hotel was clean and welcoming, room was modern and clean.
Disliked: There was no bath as advertised, it did look like the room had undergone a refurbishment and possibly not replaced the bath, last stay at this hotel several months ago the room had a bath and was one of the reasons for returning here.
