Good but could be better,...

Liked: Great location, the hotel had a great ambiance, looked the part, nice decor Staff - Check out chap was really good and breakfast staff very friendly.Lovely looking room, all the basic facilities, shortbread was a nice touch. Great poached eggs on breakfast, good selection on buffet bar.
Disliked: Check in was poor, I'd have likely used the bar and restaurant if she'd have been friendlier and proactive.Had to ask where my room was, not asked if I'd need help with luggage and the stairs etc. (I was clearly struggling, I'd hoped a lift would be available) The bedroom window rattled in the windThe noise from neighbouring rooms Minor repairs needed and bed needs a topper.Bathroom could have been cleaner, hair on the floor etc Breakfast - the coffee was dreadful from the machine , worst coffee I've ever tasted if I'm honest. The cooked to order breakfast - toast was inedible and the avocado was not smashed it was a spreadable from a jar avo, I think, and spread like jam on the toast.

Liked: Actually stayed 15/17 after wee phone call to property had fantastic anniversary weekend food beautiful and scrambled egg at breakfast mmmm
