Blenkinsopp Castle Inn, Greenhead

Welcoming and a perfect respite.

Liked: Beautiful location and the hosts were absolutely marvelous. After a long drive we were welcomed into the lounge where the locals welcomed us in like we were regulars. The property is so unique and cozy.
Disliked: The only thing was that our room didn’t have heat (water pump issue) so it was a chilly night, but there were plenty of blankets to keep warm as we slept. It was going to be fixed the next day so I’m sure it’s not a normal problem.

Lovely and quaint pub and...

Liked: Owners and staff were very pleasant, we arrived earlier than expected, and they were closed at the time. However, one phone call and they came and assisted us straight away. Service was fantastic, and the room was very clean and tidy. The location was convenient for multiple excursions around Northumberland, and it's situated in a beautiful spot. Good selection of food and local beers and a really nice atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Enjoyed reading the facts about the castle's history and was happy with the experience.N.B. Just on pricing, the price we received included discounts, and this to me made it a fair price, without discount I would probably mark down the value for money.
Disliked: Food was a bit pricey for what it was, I had the salmon and Teriyaki sauce with rice. Rice and salmon were a bit bland, and the rice was overcooked (over boiled?). At breakfast had to inquire about the extra sides we had ordered, and the sides came out short with the follow-up sadly. The black pudding was overcooked, which is a shame because the evening meal the black pudding in tempura batter was delicious! (would recommend) and my wife enjoyed her burger.
