Very good
Liked: Lovely setting and location , lovely food
Disliked: Restaurant and Bar staff were lovely but probably not the most efficient at dealing with dietary requests like gluten intolerance - instead of having a separate menu or dishes clearly marked, the staff had to keep going back and forth to the kitchen to check what was and wasn’t gluten free

Relaxing family stop off
Liked: We travelled with a 7 week old baby and our dog - everything was very easy, the staff were great and the dog was allowed to roam around the vast green spaces. Considering it was our first trip out of London we couldn't have picked a better place to stay on route to Devon. Very relaxing. We picked a roomy room and were very impressed with the size and quality of the room

1 night
Liked: Lovely hotel, great “roomy” room and with nice a spa area
Disliked: Outdoor pool was great for an early swim but needed cleaning, perhaps it was because it was the beginning of the season? 3 course meal fantastic in the evening with a couple of beers and soft drinks - but 1 coffee, a couple of nightcaps in the bar “with no receipt” for £53 on the final invoice seemed excessive!

Fantastic food
Liked: Lovely property but no lift so stairs are a struggle if you have breathing or health issues if your room is on the top floor but the room and staff were lovely

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds....
Liked: Family room was big and lovely. Pool was warm and nice. Lovely hotel. Good staff. Food very over priced for what it was. 2 small slithers of duck on the main course. Starters not great. Desserts good. Breakfast not bad but again 1 piece of bacon on the pancakes.

The website is very misleading...
Liked: the hotel surrounding were very nice and the facilities SHOUL have been good but were not great
Disliked: The hot tubs were all only slightly warm certainly NOT hot tubsSmashed floor tiles around the indoor pool & the floor tiles were very slips (not none slip) and there could have easily been an accidentServed a drink in the bar only to find the glass was smashed around the rim which could have been more seriousThe room was booked based on the pictures we saw on the website. Whilst we booked the lower cost room knowing its not the largest room, the room itself was super tiny and the bathroom was clearly 'bodged' , the shower flooded all the bathroom floor and there wasn't even a window blind to provide privacy whilst showering. The vanity table in the room has no lighting over the mirror has no lighting and there is no chair to sit at anyway (the rooms to small to fit one in)The write up on the website says the room has a garden view - the only view we had was of a flat sheet metal roof and air conditioning duct!At £360 (the advertised price) without dinner or breakfast this is a vastly overpriced room and stay.
