What ever you do don’t...
Liked: Free tea and coffee, the common room was nice with a big tv. Staff where friendly. They give you ear plugs free of charge.
Disliked: The hostal was right next to a big night club so from 5pm to 5am there was a constant boom, boom, boom at 3am all the cars in the street started honking horns which went on for over an hour. Lots of people screaming and shouting.

Very good
Liked: Not far from the city centre, free tea and coffee in the rooms, free breakfast
Disliked: Strange smell in the room, only 2 bathrooms on the whole floor, could add a mirror in the rooms

Exceptional
Liked: I have stayed in many locations around England and Scotland, and this was on the top best experiences ever I had in UK in an affordable price range. I highly recommend Central Backpackers because of its clean and comfortable rooms, top-notch amenities, and attentive staff. One of the main specialties that makes it different from others is free breakfast availability from 07 am to 11 am.I had a wonderful stay for 1 week in this hostel, and sincerely, I appreciate the management and all the staff for maintaining the facility with great standards.

Liked: Organised and helpful staff.Entrance with code and code cards, heavy, safe doors, CCTVs.Lots of showers and bathrooms. All clean and with air-wicks [you can rent towels].Comfortable wooden bunk beds with curtains, power sockets, good stairs to climb.A big-enough locker [take your own safety lock or buy a good one at the reception].Spacious, clean kitchen.Good, refurbished and clean social area.Good house rules that keep the place low noise and orderly (no loud phone calls, media devices w/o headphones, wash and clean your stuff etc.), rules are reinforced thanks to staff and regulars.A mix of different visitors and nationalities – backpackers, regulars, for work or tourism.15-25min walk to get around, bus stop/station, train station.Safe room to lock your belongings if you need to [free of charge when staying].
Disliked: It's a hostel. Oftentimes if something is a bit off it's because of the different type of people visiting or simply the large overturn of people. Staff handle it surprisingly well. The area is industrial – as most of Birmingham. Some might find it a bit off-putting, but once you take a walk – the graffiti around the are is real nice, there are new establishments opening in the old buildings, there are CCTVs, etc. Remember to take care of yourself and your safety first in any place. Some mould developing at one of the showers, but the hostel is working on renovations gradually.
