Beautiful 5 STAR hotel and...

Liked: Beautiful lobby and grounds.
Disliked: Emailed and asked if we can have early checkin by 1 hr. They emailed back and said our request has been approved. We arrived and were told no room was available and to wait and they would send a text when the room was ready..we had booked a suite. We went to the bar for some drinks and 1 hour passed and no text. We went to the lobby and noticed many people sittig around waiting for rooms...when we got there we were the only ones. We asked and were told the room was not ready. Waited some more and finally got fed up and talked to the manager..was told that just because we asked for early does not mean we will get it..so I showed him the email that was sent..he rolled his eyes and said its not guaranteed. What was also strange as that I received a text while we were driving to the hotel thanking us for our stay... The suite was Ok...bed was way to firm. Bathroom was old and dated. A old tub and shower head...no hand shower...and a cheap plastic shower curtain. Come on..in this hotel? Pastry and coffee shop is great..but take out only? Why would I want take out in such a beautiful hotel. There was no where to sit and just enjoy a coffee and pastry and not have to sit thru an American breakfast. Staff seemed aloof when we asked about an alternative to an American breakfast.
