Disliked: Very disappointed. There was no mention on the info provided that towels were not included. pay 3.50 euros per towel. Breakfast served at 8 am. Lastly my 9 year old daughter and wife felt very uncomfortable trying to have a shower in the shared female toilets. The shower curtains did not cover the the cubicle and there were men using the toilets in the shower area. There were no doors on the showers and broken locks on the women toilets. Traffic from motorway noisy.

Good value for money.

Liked: Ample parking for large vehicles. Which is difficult to find in central Bilbao. The 28 and 58 Bus stop outside the hostel, which is a 10 minute journey into centre of the city. Inclusive limited breakfast included in the price.

Very good

Liked: The staff were so friendly and helpful. At first, when I looked at the location when arriving at the hostel, I realized how far it was. But, once I checked in and asked for advice, I realized how easy it was to access the centre and how close it was to walk - slightly uphill but manageable! The room was well equipped, clean and the toilets were the same. The staff gave me great tips and recommendations and definitely were the highlight of this hostel. Thanks

Mostly a good experience, if...

Liked: Dog friendly or not, it depends on which staff you encounter.After reading the reviews we knew to expect a clean, somewhat sterile, large hostel- at times noisy late at night, at other times very quiet. Staff are super friendly and offer good advice on how to enjoy Bilbao. Wifi signal excellent on 2nd floor. We booked a room for 4 although only 2 of us and a dog - this allowed us lots of space.The views of the city below are spectacular and there was ample parking - for me these were the strongest points of this hostel apart from most of the staff who were great.Hostel is close to the tram (15 min walk) which is dog friendly.Laundry facilities were good.Kitchen facilities are very basic.
Disliked: No gluten free breakfast options provided despite booking this in advance. Kitchen staff laughed when I said that reception had booked this for me - thankfully I brought my own food with me. I didn't bother to follow up with reception as I didn't feel it was worth it.It was difficult to know if this hostel is dog friendly or not - we experienced conflicting rules on where our dog could be with us for breakfast. On arrival we were told to bring the dog to the room immediately outside the cafeteria on level 1 when we were eating breakfast (because the dog cannot be left alone in the bedroom). This was fine on our first morning - several staff passed us and warmly greeted us and the dog.On our second morning a young member of staff from reception approached us at breakfast and scolded us - he told us that we were not permitted to have the dog on level 1 - he said that dogs were only allowed at reception although there is no place to eat there. He would not clarify where we were to eat. He embarrassed us in front of other guests - not a nice experience to be scolded by someone half my age. Later I checked with other staff who confirmed the information that we were given on checking in -that the dog could sit with us in the room immediately outside the cafeteria on level 1. On our 3rd and final morning the dog sat in the car while we ate breakfast - we didn't want to risk being scolded again! If I stay here again I will ask for dog 'rules' in writing.
