Ideal hotel for exploring Colchester

Liked: Clean and welcoming , plenty of parking
Disliked: Noise from the trains,

Not great!!

Liked: Beautiful building. On arrival I commented how beautiful it was, reception staff said don’t build your hopes we’re only a 3 star!!!!
Disliked: Broken door frame so security chain was pointless,Mould around the bath faucet,Filthy extractor fan,Whole in the window, Dust on all surfaces above head hight, Very lumpy old bed, Music we were told would stop at midnight briefly stopped then continued until 2am! I spoke with a member of staff who said they’d send someone up, no one came! I emailed the hotel directly following our stay and had no response at all! This is the third time of writing this, when I try to add photos it deletes the whole thing.

Staff were all amazing.

Liked: Lovely old building, great location although an uphill walk to town, staff were friendly
