A very pleasant surprise to...

Liked: Service was remarkable and with a smile. Good beds and chairs. Breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: Nothing

Great I would definitely stay...

Disappointing; would have cancelled if...

Liked: The breakfast was great, the chef was very attentive to the coffee pot and refreshing the breakfast bar. Also the dining/breakfast environment in the atrium was really nice. This was the best part of the stay.
Disliked: The first 15 minutes discovered the toilet was broken; maintenance showed up fairly promptly and fixed it in an hour. Thermostat was broken - cold spell meant we wanted the room warmer but it would not stop BLOWING cold air on us no matter how high we turned it up. Asked for and was told we would get two extra blankets but no one ever showed up. maid staff does not know how to make beds -- sheets all dimpled beneath barely pulled on coverlet. Front desk woman rude (and failed to send us the aforementioned blankets_ TV did not work.

Smokers Paradise

Liked: I appreciated that fresh coffee was available in the morning.
Disliked: I stayed at this location because I was there for an equestrian competition, which fortunately I was not forced to spend much time there other than to come back to quickly sleep and shower. From the moment I arrived, my toilet did not flush. It was as if the water was not turned on to the actual toilet. I was competing and did not have time to call the front desk and wait through automated answering, etc. The two times I tried to go to the front desk to report the issue, there was a line and I was in a hurry. When turning on the shower, the bathtub would fill up completely which obviously the drain was clogged. Fine I can live with that. When arriving back to my room late at night, close to midnight both nights and being very exhausted, I encountered a group of people sitting in lawn chairs one floor below me as if they were having a party on someone's personal patio. Not only did the noise penetrate the walls into my room but the incessant chain smoking made my hotel room smell like a 1980's night club. Having to "de-smoke" all of my belongings when I got home might have been the most maddening, especially since most of my competition clothing is dry clean only. Both mornings when I quickly ran inside for coffee, I was looked at like I had 3 heads when I asked if there was water anywhere. Not a pitcher of water, not a water spout, nothing. They are serving breakfast and water is not an option? Either way, I chose this hotel because quite frankly it was the only place with any availability since I waited too long and everything else was sold out. Next time, I will make sure to reserve somewhere else, well in advance to avoid this Best Western.
