Poor value
Disliked: We booked a king size room with extra bed. The extra bed was not made up . I went to the office and he said I did not have a third bed but finally he checked my booing and agreed yes I had booked for 3 people. He gave us some linen ( no pillow covers, one towel) and I had to make up the bed myself. The man who cooked the eggs used his bare hands to add cheese and also cleaned the cafe

Ok if in a pinch.
Liked: location
Disliked: Wanted ground floor since we're in our 80's, desk clerk (spoke broken english) said he had none available even though we checked in a few minutes early and hardly anyone was there. They have no elevators and was difficult climbing up two flites of stairs with luggage. Carpet was dirty and wash basin was clogged up. Reported this to desk, but didn't seem to care.

Great stay at a great...
Liked: Excellent location and great made to order free breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us our luggage since there isn’t an elevator and our room was on the second floor.
Disliked: Room could use a little bit of updating. A fresh coat of paint would go a long way

Great little boutique style mid-price...
Liked: Great made to order breakfast - eggs, meat etc. The lone cook is fast and we were able to get to our event on time due to her efficiency although we opted for the precooked boiled eggs and toast/waffle one day due to time constraint. Most guests (the Car/Truck Show crowd?) seemed to order the largest plate options offered, probably because it was "free". This could hold up the line somewhat- I think they all were leaving for somewhere simultaneously. The garden courtyard is locked-in and safe. It has a tropical feel and although we did not sample the pool it appeared well maintained and others were pleasurably dipping in the water. Could have use more chairs at the tables I think. We love to walk and so we did a 2 miler from the motel all around the San Dimas older town. It's easy to walk to Roady's restaurant too. I grew up in San Dimas as did my Dad so it was full of memories and fun to try and identify the familiar houses that I remember from 50-60 years ago. Sadly, California prices have kept the old homes available to only those higher income folks who can afford to remodel an 8-900K home after purchase. It is still a cute place, the downtown too.We also travelled along with our extended family who seemed happy with the choice of hotel. We are sure to visit again and stay at the San Dimas Inn.
Disliked: Overwhelming air freshener smell in the lobby. I noticed the cleaners used a noxious smelling spray also. The smell didn't bother my husband. What bothered him was the lack of bar soap as they said they were waiting for a shipment. We had to ask the desk for extra shampoo to wash our hands in the sink. Bottles were difficult to squeeze and I actually dropped a bottle cap way, way down that drain which was an uncovered hole. Whoops.I literally had to worry about dropping our small toiletries down the drain which was a bit 'off putting' over the 3 day stay.
