This was part of my husband's Christmas gift. It was spoiled by the fact that we could not order any food as there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. He has a chronic back problem and we wanted room service. The staff however were very helpful and friendly.
Liked: Beautiful hotel.
Disliked: No parking; no restaurant service.

On the whole, a pleasant...
Liked: Didn't have breakfast
Disliked: The room size didn't allow for a bedside table on one side.Also although the lounge is cosy, the bar could be more so, given the age of the building

Comfortable
Liked: Location was great and convenient for allsightseeing.
Disliked: Told reception on Saturday morning that the bath was not draining, nothing was done and on Sunday morning I ended up having a shower after my partner and was standing in a good 4 in of water. This is unsafe and extremely dangerous in my opinion and was dissatisfied that nothing had been done to sort out the issue. B

Comfortable stay and central location

Disliked: Rooms a bit tired but nicely furnished and comfortable. Our shower head needed badly descaling

Historic building with many features...
Liked: Lovely building with beautiful courtyard. Decorated well in the communal areas. Parking was a bonus. The location is excellent. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
Disliked: The attitude of the young woman serving in the bar in the evening was very poor. She raised her eyes when I asked for an espresso martini and said she’d have to clean the coffee filter out again and had only just done this. She didn’t have all the ingredients for a margarita for my wife despite it being on the ‘new cocktail menu’. My wife asked to taste one of the wines before purchasing a glass and was told she couldn’t. In all her whole attitude was rude and she behaved as though she didn’t really want to be there. The manager however, who came out to assist, was extremely professional and helpful. It’s a pity as everything else about our stay was really good. Maybe some more training is required!
