This was part of my husband's Christmas gift. It was spoiled by the fact that we could not order any food as there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. He has a chronic back problem and we wanted room service. The staff however were very helpful and friendly.

Liked: Beautiful hotel.
Disliked: No parking; no restaurant service.

Good

Liked: The breakfast was very nice. Rooms are warm and comfortable.
Disliked: The walk to the room is a long way from reception. Up plenty of stairs. Luckily, we are fit and able, but this could be an issue for a lot of people.The shower in the bathroom could do with some updating.The bedside lamp on the left-hand side was a bit dodgy. Flicking on and off so we did not use it.

Disliked: There were radiators in our room and the eating area but mine of them were working or switched on and in our bedroom we had 2 plug in heaters as the radiators weren’t working

Character inn near the Cathedral

Liked: Excellent location near the Cathedral, plenty of character and very helpful and friendly staff. Moved me to another room when I could not get their internet on my phone - they offered, I did not have to ask. Pleasant enough bar and breakfast. Parking onsite is only for those who know how to park - those spaces are tight! But very convenient.
Disliked: Bed and pillows could have been softer and there was a lot of noise from something that sounded like air conditioning in my room. But this old building has no air conditioning so a bit of a mystery.

Great stay in a great...

Liked: Very nice reception area although a little difficult to see where the entrance actually was. Room was comfy and clean. Room signage was clear despite a warren of corridors. Staff friendly and accomodating.
