Best Western Plus White Bear Country Inn, White Bear Lake

This hotel is in a great location. White Bear Lake is a nice city near the Myth which is why we stayed there. The staff greeted us and asked how we were doing everytime we walked by them. Pool and hot tub were nice but are as big as I thought they would be. The arcade was just like 5 games in a square "closet" with a vending machine all cramped together! Not a big hotel, I thought it was bigger which is not a bad thing since I hate being lost. The hotel never seemed too busy for us. The bar restaurant Rudy's is awesome - so nice looking.

Liked: Pool area theme looked great; nice staff and good food at Rudy's.
Disliked: Pillows were too firm; bug in the room; missing light bulb in lamp.

Nice hotel close to Myth and several liquor stores. Rooftop bar and restaurant is neat. Great continental breakfast with plenty of choice. Nice pool and hot tub.

Liked: Nice hotel with friendly staff.
Disliked: Was told wrong room number at first, but got it worked out quickly.

I would recommend people to...

Liked: We enjoyed the area for the free continental breakfast.
Disliked: We did not get the room I had booked on line through booking.com. very disappointed. We needed the pull out sofa bed. Luckily I had an adult size cot in my car that I dragged in. The manager notified me the next morning and totally followed through taking care of the problem. I was impressed with the follow through, thanks to the check in clerk. It seems that kind of item gets forgotten about.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby and atrium areas were very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Our room, in general, was clean and spacious. The food and service at Rudy's was excellent!
Disliked: The walls and carpeting in the halls are a bit shabby snd in need of updating. Walls in room could stand to be washed. Whirlpool tub needed cleaning (no real surprise there...we expect that) but the tub surround was pretty grimey as well.
