Other than parking it was...

Liked: The morning breakfast provided was surprisingly good. Even great. A very nice self-serve buffet of everything you could want for breakfast, Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, cereals, milk and juices, coffee, fresh fruits. The beds (and pillows) were very cozy. It was nice and quiet... no party people next-door. Big TV, nice if you like to watch TV. Nice mini-fridge, small microwave, mini coffee-maker (good luck finding decaf packets for that thing). The location was fine, right along Banff avenue. It was as clean and cozy as we would expect from a Best Western.
Disliked: The parking really sucked. We arrived about 830pm on a Friday (this is late October, not prime time), and we ended up having to park on the street, because the underground parking was full. Good luck finding street parking in Banff where you won't be ticketed and/or towed. So that's real nice when you are already exhausted from travel and you have to walk a long ways for each trip to load/unload your vehicle. Never mind that it also might be raining or snowing at the time. Wow, real nice. Considering my past experience with other Best Western hotels, I found this one to appear a bit old, run-down, in general. Also, the screen door for the balcony would not fully close. The bathroom sink faucets were leaky. We didn't care much for the fancy new-style light switches, it was really annoying to figure out how to work the lights.
