1st Visit in South Dakota

Liked: We enjoyed the location—just 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown Rapid City. The breakfast offered a nice variety of options.Mt Rushmore is only 30 mins away!
Disliked: Nothing. All was good for us.

Great location, but terrible staff.

Liked: Great central location for visiting Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, and all other nearby attractions.
Disliked: The staff all need a lesson in hospitality, given that hotels are part of the hospitality industry. We spent five nights at this hotel and not one single employee ever greeted or acknowledged us. Not so much as a smile or head nod. From the front desk to the older man who ran breakfast to the housekeepers, not one single person was even remotely friendly. Even the employee checking us in upon arrival was very short with us, no greeting whatsoever, she just handed us our paperwork and key cards, the entire encounter lasted less than a minute, and that was the longest conversation we had with any staff the entire stay. On top of that, on our departure day, a housekeeper came barreling in our door at 10:15am and walked in on us naked getting dressed. Checkout isn’t until 11am, so not sure why she felt the need to even be there, much less let herself in the room. No apology afterwards whatsoever, she just walked right back out. We travel constantly, and we’ve never had such a bad experience with a hotel’s staff.
