Located in Caen's city center the Best Western Plus Le Moderne is a nonsmoking hotel and is just 0.9 mi from the train station and 3.7 mi from Carpiquet Airport. The Château Ducal is only a 2-minute walk away and the Caen Abbeys are a 5-minute walk from the hotel. At the Best Western Plus Le Moderne each room has individually-controlled air conditioning and heating. All rooms are en suite and soundproofed. They feature spacious and individually decorated spaces. The buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the 1st floor. Good for a short stay

Liked: The location is great for getting out into Caen and close to the citadel and all the sights. good for a solo traveller like myself. Staff were nice.
Disliked: The bathroom and shower. No nice coffee, and the bed wasn’t that comfortable. Rather basic and small.

Comfortable hotel, friedly staff.

Liked: Comfortable clean hotel centrally located in Caen. Ideal for sightseeing in the local area.
Disliked: Parking is close by, but in a very restricted underground carpark. The hotel has 4 discounted slots otherwise you pay full rate.

Liked: Very helpful staff, with specific recommendations that proved to be excellent and quick resolution of a misunderstanding about my use of the mini-bar.Good location, comfortable, reasonable price, would certainly stay again.

Exceptional

Liked: The receptionist was welcoming and very knowledgeable.The room was clean and smart.
Disliked: Only downside was the noise from outside the hotel. We were provided with earplugs in the room.
