Reasonable off-season personal getaway from...

Liked: Room was clean, view from room in off season was beautiful and peaceful. The heated outdoor pool and Jaquizzi were uncrowded and had great views on my early November evening.
Disliked: Like many chain motels, they will add on fee for "incidentals" when you check in, but they won't tell you what they consider incidentals. This fee did not appear on my final bill. My view room on second floor of East wing didn't have a balcony or patio like the ground floor or upper rooms have. Couldn't open window, room air felt close even with fan blowing. I came from Portland by bus and the local bus system has stopped running its connector bus to this part of town. I saw the local bus manager at transit station to someone who missed his connection from Portland to The Dalles by less than 5 minutes . I know the town and am a light packer, and a mile walk from the transit center in mild weather is fun for me. For other bus-riding trekkers from Portland, be prepared for very limited local cab, and bus system that can sometimes be hostile to travelers. Locals who plan 24 hors ahead and know their exact schedule can get dial-a-ride. .

Liked: Amazing hotel. Very clean room and friendly staff. Love the heated pool and view on Columbia river. Food in a restaurant taste good. Can’t be better.

Enjoyed my stay here

Liked: Great bed, updated room. Quiet aside from heater. I would stay here again!
Disliked: Heater made noises that woke me up. I prefer thick duvet comforter.
