Surpassed all expectations, a gem...

Liked: The hotel itself is a beautiful building set in beautiful grounds. I stayed in the modern but tasteful annex. It was quiet (no noisy A/C or lift), warm but not too hot, and clean. The welcome on arrival was friendly and the breakfast was very good. I'm Vegan and was delighted to find a Vegan breakfast on the menu. The breakfast staff was attentive, polite, and accommodating. There was plenty of parking close to the buildings.
Disliked: There wasn't anything I didn't like to be honest and I look forward to returning to this hotel next time I am in the area.

Comfortable room and friendly staff....

Liked: It’s a lovely looking building with an interesting area. The staff are terrific and the accommodation very comfortable. I was in the annex.
Disliked: The annex is like a rabbit warren for anyone on the second floor. Not easy to negotiate with baggage when you’re solo.

Grim.

Disliked: Booked 3 rooms for 2 days. The level of hygiene was dreadful. Whole annex stank of bleach, mould in the bathroom, bath drain blocked with hair and backed up. Shower was a trickle because it was full of Lyme scale. That was after being moved from an uninhabitable room due to the smell. The other original room had holes in the carpet, mould around the bath and the plug holes. The blocked bath was in a so called executive room upgrade. Safe in one of the rooms didn’t work. Second day was only left with one towel in the room. My mother had a disabled room. Mould on the shower walls. Sink had cracks in it. Hotel really run down and neglected and in desperate need of refurbishmentWe would have moved to another hotel but everywhere was fullEnded up getting a 50% refund. Do your self a favour and avoid.
