Another great stay but a...

Liked: We’ve stayed here many times and love it! The staff are all lovely and so helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic and the customer service is excellent. I will however say that the rest of the menu is limited for vegans and vegetarians. We stayed in a garden room with a balcony and it was very nice. However, the carpet had lots of marks all over it and the side of the bed looked grubby but had a cover on it.The furniture on the balcony wasn’t at all comfortable and we were linked to other people’s balconies which was a bit odd. This meant we could hear people outside in the night which was unnerving and we could also smell their cigarette smoke too, which was not very nice.We stayed for two nights and were only given two toilet rolls. The shower pressure was terrible and the angle of the shower meant that it was very hard to actually get water on your body. Lastly, the shower curtain was in the way and kept sticking to us. It would have been much better to use a shower door. We did have a great time though and will definitely be back!

Liked: The bed was so hard it was like trying to sleep on an ironing board. Everything else was fine.

Rude female receptionist at check...

Liked: Reception female member of staff extremely rude. We had a two night stay. We kindly requested a put up bed to be set up on the second night of our stay, as our daughter would be travelling to come and join us.During the telephone conversation I was informed that that this would be ok with an additional charge of £25.00 for the Friday night.Upon check out today the receptionist insisted we pay £50 as she said the staff had set the bed up early so they didn’t have to do it on the Friday. I said they would have had ample time to set it up on the Friday and I thought it was very unfair to be charged extra when we had a pre arranged agreement. This is nonsensical as my daughter was not there on the Thursday. She checked in on her arrival and why on earth would I pay for a bed that was not being used? The attitude and behaviour of this woman was unprofessional and not just to us. She was rude to the gentleman before us in the queue for checkout. She certainly needs to reflect on her tone, attitude and language when engaging with paying customers. I work in an industry that could send a lot of business to the hotel. I absolutely will not be doing so now.I also mentioned that upon my arrival I had taken pictures of the disgrace of the carpet in the room. It is covered in awful stains and marks and also the wall paper has stains on it… quite high up.. it looks as if there had been a leak and the wall paper left. The blinds have obviously been pulled down at some point and the person that has tried to fix the blind back on to the window has done such a poor job and they are not straight. The little attentions to detail are so incredibly important. I also added that I was not in any way looking for money off or a refund. It was advice as a paying guest. The receptionist then told me that people were complaining of noise til 0300am.We arrived back at the hotel at 02.30 and walked to the room. No television or phones were used. We all went straight to bed.
