Best Western London Ilford Hotel, Redbridge

I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Very lovely staff and hotel is clean.

Liked: Staff was friendly and supportive and professional.
Disliked: Need to have bottle water even to sell. As not everyone drinks tap water.

Scam, you book the Best...

Disliked: We didn’t get to stay in the property we booked. After they took our deposit and filled out the paperwork we got told that we couldn’t stay in our room due to a ‘maintenance problem’ and got moved to a sister hotel ‘The Britannia Inn’ in the next street. We were told we could get a free breakfast in a local cafe for our inconvenience. We had planned for a breakfast there anyway so thought this was ideal. I double checked that it was a proper breakfast (as they said cafe) and was assured it was.When we got there, we were led through the hotel to an area behind that had temporary buildings. It looked like people were living in the other rooms( e.g washing drying outside the rooms) . The door was opened for us and we were left. When we walked in we saw the room had only a double and single bed ( we had booked a quadruple room with 2 double beds. We complained and got moved to another hotel ‘Lucky 8’ This hotel had the right number of beds. Neither of the two hotels looked anywhere near the same standards or the pics we saw of the Best Western. When we went for breakfast the next morning it is a coffee shop at the front of another Best Western (even though you can see the hotel dining room) and they had pastry’s and bagels for breakfast. None of which my fussy son would eat. The staff here were very good in trying to find something he would like and got yogurt and toast from the hotel kitchen. Having read the other reviews this moving to other hotels appears to me to be a scam, get people booking the best western then give them rooms in other hotels owned by the same person who would never have booked those hotels at that price normally.

Liked: Had a problem with booked room, problem was resolved very quickly and another room was found, all members of staff involved with resolving the issue, did so quickly and very professionally, I'd definitely stay here again.

Disliked: When we arrived we were told that there was a maintenance problem with our room and we had to go to their other hotel nearby.They should have contacted us about this previously.The other hotel was awful. It smelt and had cockroaches! Not a nice place
