A comfortable budget hotel. No...

Liked: The location is great. I was able to get a parking place for all except one night. (There was a function at the hotel on that night.) There was plenty of nearby on street parking.The room was comfortable, relative to the price.There was plenty of hot water for the shower.The budget redecoration of the room was bright.The considerable noise from the function downstairs finished promptly at midnight as promised.There was a good choice for breakfast.
Disliked: Room maintenance was not perfect. There was a light bulb in the four bulb fitting that was much dimmer than the others but this did not bother me at all.The budget redecoration of the room was clearly chosen to save money. but at the end of the day it was a low cost room. The corridor carpets were threadbare in several places.Waiters would only take breakfast orders from the inner part of the restaurant, and would not approach anyone in the outer part of the restaurant. This was not indicated when entering the restaurant and giving a room number.The full breakfast was not a large portion, but this did not matter as there were lots of other items to choose from the continental selection to make up for this.Continental breakfast items ran out several times during breakfast, but they were topped up --eventually!

Liked: Staff were amazing so as location the look of the hotel from outside was great,very haunting and Gothic.
Disliked: As I booked only 1 night, I booked a single room, which was super small, bed is very uncomfortable- probably needs a new mattress and pillows as they are very flat and used. There were a lot of hairs everywhere- bed, pillows, bath. Towels probs need replacing as they are no longer white. My bin contained rubbish that belonged to previous guests. Also as it was a tiny room, it was very hot, I could not open my window as it was over the kitchen so it was not only loud but smelled of all the food in seconds. Restaurant run out of fish too.

Disliked: Room was not the deluxe double shown on booking com website, hotel said they would decorate room with petals for our anniversary they didn't. When I tried to speak with reception staff they were just not interested and just defensive
