Best Western Hotel Arabellapark Muenchen, Munich

Very good

Liked: Nice hotel close to the Arabellapark in Munich. Modern room and bathroom, the room is on the smaller side but the bed is very nice and all you need for one or two nights.

Disliked: The mattress is too soft and has a hole in the bottom. The bed linen is clean but has holes in it from washing, it is worn out. When I entered the room the bottle of water was open and used.

Liked: The location was perfect for me. I wanted to stay a little out of the city where it is a bit quieter. The area around the hotel is very quiet with no major roads/trams/trains making noise.The staff were very friendly and pleasant on arrival. Checking in was really easy.The room was a nice size for a solo traveller, plenty of space. Room was spotless, facilities worked perfectly. Towels were soft. The bed was really comfy. The room was nice and warm and it did have air con but I didn't need this as it was quite cold when I was there.The U-Bahn station is about a 3 minute walk away and the city is easy to get into and out of on the U4 line.There is a couple of supermarkets nearby that were well stocked - but be aware they are shut on a Sunday.

Disliked: 1. Being asked to pay at check in. even though I registered my card through booking.com. It is unnecessary and actually rude as there is no reason for this other than a fear by the property that you will not pay.2. The smell of body odour from the cleaning personnel, unfortunately. Upon checking in I exited the lift on my floor and was overcome with nausea from an overpowering stench of body odour/sweat. The whole floor stank. The closer I got to my room on the edge of the floor the worse it became, I then had to pass by the room cleaning team still finishing some rooms and nearly fainted -- the smell was their body odour. In my room I had to open the windows wide for a few hours whilst I was out to get rid of the smell. Please make sure that the room attendants change their uniform on a daily basis and if they still exude such pungent body odour, urge them to use deodorant(supplied by you if necessary) or offer showers during lunch break on-site. This smell issue is unacceptable for a 3-star hotel with 4-star pricing.
