Great seaside stay, great walks...

Liked: Great location at the top of the cliffs, with a quick walk through the Leas park to the sea front. On-site cafe / bar and the restaurant were all very good. Breakfast excellent, with hot and cold buffet options plus a la crate options (eggs Benedict etc) included.
Disliked: Soundproofing in our room wasn’t great (we were close to the lift / stairs and we could occasionally hear the creaky floorboards of the room above)but this wasn’t a big issue.

Beautiful hotel great location. Lovely...

Liked: Location. clean & tidy. Lovely staff
Disliked: Reception weren’t totally clear on what I had actually booked so it took a while to book in. I paid for breakfast for 3 by cash, that message wasn’t communicated clearly to the restaurant team so I was asked if I paid which was a little uncomfortable. My room card wouldn’t allow me access to the room after housekeeping had been in on the day after check in so had too run back down from the 3rd floor

Very good

Liked: The room was a decent size and clean, and the location was well suited for the local restaurants and train station. Staff were pleased and helpful.
Disliked: I thought the room was a little ordinary for the upgrade. Being near the coast, there were shrieking seagulls some which perched on the window sill. Parking was restricted and a bit of a hit and miss.

Overall, it was not a...

Liked: The hotel’s decor and accommodation were excellent.
Disliked: Our family stayed for a 3-day, 2-night half-board package. The restaurant service was disappointing. As vegetarians, we had very few options. On the first evening, the walnut in our starter salad tasted rancid, and the children’s soup was far too spicy. The only positive aspect of our experience was the male manager, who was very helpful on the second evening (19th February). He kindly arranged a vegan menu with more options for the four of us, which we greatly appreciated. However, we didn’t realize we could order from the menu until the second day’s breakfast (20th February). Meanwhile, all the other guests around us were asked to order—this felt rude and frustrating. We were left to rely solely on the buffet. Also, the service during breakfast on the morning of 20th February was very POOR. The female staff member (white shirt and gold vest) was rude and questioned our eligibility to dine. After seating us, we waited 10 minutes before going to find another server for coffee while others were promptly served. We actually waited 30 minutes to find someone to take our order from the breakfast menu. The same staff member left our table piled with 6 or 7 used plates while clearing others. As a hotel guest we don’t understand why should be treat like we have done something wrong.
