We were very disappointed in...
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Sunken bath in room, (health hazard)with dirt on the bottom of the shower curtain. Stained carpet. Bedding looked old, certainly not crisp white! Only two plugs, one I used to dry my hair, was too far away from the mirror to see (even the hotel hairdryer failed to reach the mirror fully!) Had to place the kettle on the floor as the lead was not long enough to stand on side cupboard. Old carpets throughout hotel, threadbare in places. Doors into the hotel were disgustingly dirty, full of mucky fingerprints I didn't want to touch the doors. A horrible musty smell throughout. We were given the option to move to another room, but one had a spiral staircase and the other executive suite!!! looked like no one had slept in it since Queen Victoria era. The musty, dusty smell in that room was gagging.

Lovely but old style hotel
Liked: Being able to use the spa was great, being in the town centre gave easy access to shops/restaurants and bars, breakfast was really nice too and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Disliked: Not very up to date but as it was a one night stay it didn't matter and it add to the history, not much else to say.

Shocking in this day and...
Disliked: The bed in the allocated bedroom was effectively broken. A poor quality mattress on top of a divan with damaged springs. I tried sleeping on the other side of the bed, I tried sleeping upside down, but there was no position to be found where it was possible to avoid the missing area in the middle. I reported the situation to the receptionist, telling her that they cannot put people in such a bed, it was a totally unacceptable thing to have done and requested a call from management. It is now 2 days later and I haven't had any contact. As there is no intention to rectify my experience, I assume there is a high probability of someone else falling victim to the situation and in all probability needing an osteopath after their stay as a result.

An old building in need...
Liked: Size of room was very good, sitting room, bedroom and ensuite.
Disliked: Everything was worn and ready for upgrade and refurbishment. Was not impressed with worn out loungers with loose cover over hiding tears and stains. Dust on everything.
