With empty roads and even emptier hills the Ben View Phenix Hotel is the perfect place to explore the best-kept secret in Britain - Ardnamurchan. This local hotel located on the outskirts of Strontian is based in a stunning scenic setting with parking and garaging facilities as well as a sauna and hot tub to help you make the most of the highland countryside. Hearty breakfasts await guests where the personal touch caters for individual requirements. The Hotel's bedrooms with attached bathroom are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers. TVs are not provided in the rooms. Our residents' lounges are very warm and comfortable; one has a TV with limited sky Freeview channels and the other is more intimate with books and magazines to read for those seeking a bit of peace and quiet. With Ben View Phenix as a resting place guests will appreciate comfort excellent food and very friendly staff making a holiday to remember in one of the world's most memorable corners. Our restaurant serves a wide range of local food for evening meals and offers breakfasts for guests. Our bar is currently unlicensed so does not serve alcohol feel welcome to Bring Your Own Bottle though! We are hoping to be licensed by mid-summer and will update our website and social media as and when this happens - in the meantime no corkage charges apply.

Welcoming and good value.

Liked: Exceptionally helpful and welcoming host. Not having TVs in the rooms suits me fine (there is a TV lounge). While the place is slightly dated it is great value, considerably cheaper than other local alternatives. Blissfully quiet for sleeping.Good breakfast and very modest prices on dinner menu.
Disliked: Shower wasn't very powerful, and no toiletries were provided. Currently not serving alcohol, due to the prohibitive cost of licence for a small premises. I think I expected a 'full bar' because of the word hotel, but I wouldn't have expected one if the word was 'accomodation' or 'guest house'.

Superb

Liked: Loved the stay ,very peaceful,host Graham couldn't do enough for you,breakfasts very well prepared and presented Nothing too much trouble for him.First time in Strontian,village very friendly and clean.Fantastic 4 day break , will definitely be back.

Hotel is closed. Don't book!

Liked: The hotel was closed. It has been closed for some time, but booking.com is still letting people to book it. We had to find an alternate accommodation at a much higher price on that night. Extremely unhappy!

We would have happily stayed...

Liked: Beautiful, quiet area with jacuzzi and sauna available and VERY reasonable price. Graham made our stay extra enjoyable with his sense of humour and stories.

A gem of a find...

Liked: Enthusiasm of the owner Graham and his young staff; the variety of the breakfast and main meal menus and the quality of the food; great location for breaking up a journey from Skye to Liverpool
Disliked: Nothing..exterior is in need of updating but Graham has a plan for renovation and we wish him well with that
