Superb

Decent but needs some TLC

Liked: The location is great for general access to all things Newport. The breakfast was very good with a variety of foods and the lobby coffee maker was appreciated. The person who checked us in and showed us the general facilities was very helpful. Free parking behind the building.
Disliked: The Guest House is in need of some TLC. It took a couple of minutes each time we returned to our room #114 to open our door with the provided keys because the lock is very loose and needed a lot of jiggling to unlock the door. We mentioned it during the stay but it wasn't fixed when we were there. The shower gel soap dispenser was empty, Again we asked for it to be filled but it wasn't. The downstairs area for breakfast was nice but not heated so it was chilly. A heating/cooling unit in the area wasn't functioning properly and emitted a whining noise which needs repair. Closet doors for hanging clothes don't close and there are just a few clothes hangers. The room was very warm the first night. It is heated with a radiator. We had to run the A/C to low the room temp which was an issue all night. The temp was lower the next day. And the mattress was very firm, leading to uncomfortable sleeping.

Good location, good breakfast, good...

Liked: The staff were very friendly as we had to make adjustments to our reservation. They communicated in an authentic friendly manner from the moment of our booking. The location is great and the included breakfast as pretty decent.
Disliked: I wish breakfast was from 7-10. It is from 8-10. The walls are thin and I not only had to hear my husband snore but also the person in the neighboring room.

Superb

A lovely stay with character...

Liked: I loved that the room had two beds but with the bed and breakfast feel.
Disliked: Check in was a little confusing because you have to go into a separate building but once I figured that out it was easy.

I’d stay there again. And...

Liked: Location was central Clean comfortable roomNice breakfastFriendly responsive staff.
Disliked: Only complaint is that the windows didn’t fully close or lock and they were drafty.

Perfect location with off street...

Liked: Room was cozy and nice. Comfortable bed and a warm shower!
Disliked: It is an older building, so you can some times hear people in the hallways.But it isn't really an issue.
