Fabulous stay, lovely friendly hosts...
Liked: What a lovely place to stay. The location was perfect - could walk into town in a couple of minutes. The room was immaculate and so clean!!! I usually want to wash the crockery and glasses at a motel before i use them - but this is the first time i looked and the glasses were sparkling. No washing was required :-).Will definitely stay again the next time in Hokitika! Thanks so much

Disliked: The staff of the reception was extremely rude and unfriendly.Dear Management Team,Further to my feedback on December 31st, I would like to clarify some points regarding your reply dated the same day.Firstly, concerning the check-in time, due to unexpected circumstances, we arrived at approximately 8:45 p.m. We attempted to contact your motel by phone twice and via email before the reception closed when we realized our arrival time might be after 8 p.m. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone. An email response later reiterated that check-in was before 8 p.m. Although we appreciated the eventual assistance from your staff, the initial interaction was disheartening. We were met with a stern comment “You are late!” about our late arrival, which detracted from the welcoming atmosphere we had hoped for, as we experienced in other motels where we stayed.Secondly, regarding the request for a written confirmation, I inquired about obtaining a letter of confirmation for our hotel stay on October 5th when I made the reservation. The simple receipt I received upon arrival had my name printed incorrectly, which is why your staff had to issue another one. Since your staff indicated it was closing time, I suggested collecting the document the following day when the reception reopened. We appreciate that your staff worked after hours, even though my friend and I had to endure the sudden pressing of the light switch with force and the loud typing during the process. We would also like to clarify that both my friend and I expressed our gratitude to your staff for producing the document. I hope this can be rectified in your response on Booking.com, as your staff claimed she did not receive a simple "thank you."We chose your motel for its positive reputation and hoped for a pleasant stay. I believe that staff training in customer service and communication could significantly improve guest experiences in the future.Happy New Year!

Great for a single /...
Liked: Was a clean and basic room.
Disliked: Wifi kept cutting out so had to use up my limited phone data. Room is on the small side and have to use bathroom handbasin as sink. Sorry but I wouldn't be staying multiple nights again. Great for a single / 1 night stay.
