Strange experience

Liked: Spacious room,friendly lady at the reception at evening time, warm room on arrival,ample parking.Not far from the ferry port.
Disliked: We only wanted to stay and sleep for about 5 hours before catching the 2.45 am ferry to Ireland.The night receptionist woke us up at midnight still cant figure out why.He said he saw lorries crossing the bridge nearby and wanted to make sure we can get to the ferry on time.Yeah it was about an 8 minutes drive.So we couldnt fall back to sleep being rather upset.No idea what he had seen because the fog was so thick no one could see a thing more than few yards ahead, let alone a lorry about 3 miles away.Im still wandering what was this all about?The hotel is really difficult to find we needed direction on the phone, the lady was very helpful.The room ( n19) did stink badly( smoke) .Ash tray outside so no wander, i guess people smoked in the room with the door open maybe.The bedding is disasterous.Not sure how many people slept in it or if they ever change it.Not sure what to think about this all but certainly a very strange experience.

Liked: The location is very convenient for the town of Pembroke and the ferry to Ireland.The location provides natural security for the car as it is quite isolated.The hotel has just been acquired by a new local owner. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the lady owner.Good full breakfast included, making this hotel good value for money, compared to other local hotels which are much more expensive and do not include breakfast.
Disliked: Access to our room was via a set of steep outside stairs making it awkward for moving bags etc from our car to the room.and for walking outside to get to the reception and dining room, especially as the weather was poor.

Pleasant

Overall the hotel was excellent...

Liked: Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice and served hot.
Disliked: Due to a recent change of ownership and staff a few things were amiss like wine glasses for the fruit juice and and no croissants and no hot water from the urn for coffee.
