We love the lakes, we...

Liked: The room was newly refurbished. The bed was so comfy. I did suggest that they turn the sofa to face the room and TV rather than the window. We did not use the sofa for watching the view, we used the outside furniture.
Disliked: The prices for drinks were a little overpriced.I had let the receptionist know we were there for my husband's 50th. I did the same with our waiter at dinner but no one seemed interested in making a little bit of a fuss of him. We had stayed here a couple of years ago and we were made a fuss off. This is why we returned for his 50th birthday surprise. He enjoyed his time but a happy birthday or a candle in his dessert would have been nice.

Room comfy but freezing ,...

Liked: Super staff ! The room was very comfortable but sadly very very cold as no heating came on even the shower water wasn’t hot, struggled to keep a 2 year old warm ,Paid 180 for one night and one room but I had to pay extra to use the pool @ 20 per person, it’s going through some renovations work stairs and walls are shabby for a 4 star hotel .
Disliked: No heating in my Room at all , you have to pay extra for pool use , building work in way , outdoor spa ideal for summer temperatures only.

beautiful location but I was...

Liked: I paid for the upgraded room with full open view of lake windemere, the view was breathtaking and I loved relaxing in my jacuzzi bath
Disliked: details said slippers and robe provided for spa use my partner phoned reception 3 times no answer to request them then spent 40 mins trying to find someone who could get them to end up going into the spa and grabbing 2 robes and slipers for us himself. The hotel can be difficult for someone with walking problems it's very steep .

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Very disappointed especially as it...

Liked: The hotel was on the waterfront of Lake Windermere which was lovely. Staff were lovely especially Maggie who was the lady night porter.
Disliked: The bedroom was extremely cold, went to reception who told me that the hotel heating is on a timer coming on 8.30am until 9.30am and then 5pm till 6.30pm this was totally unacceptable the room was freezing. There were no containers in the bathroom for rinsing mouth or for tooth brushes, no gowns or slippers. The full English breakfast was the size of a child’s potion very dry 1 rasher of bacon, small sausage half a mushroom and a very small bowl of beans which was all Luke warm. There was also extra charge of £20 each person per day to use the pool which I thought was extortion especially due to the amount we had paid for 2 nights.
