Liked: Very comfortable room and bed. Dinner was excellent.Good selection for breakfast.Staff friendly and helpful.Pleasant relaxing atmosphere.
Disliked: Bathroom lovely but chilly. towel rail not sufficient to heat the large room.We left bedroom door open and the temperature did improve.

Well worth tge money

Liked: Brilliant worth booking, check in after visiting beamish museum. Would certainly book again the next time we visit

Comfy bed but shabby. Great...

Liked: The location and setting was inimitable. The public rooms were delightful.
Disliked: Beyond the public rooms the hotel was shabby with stained carpets. The lift door on the ground floor did not close automatically which precluded the lift from operating on the upper floors.

Beautiful Large Hotel in Wonderful...

Liked: Very comfortable room on the top floor with great views. Comfortable and spacious. Excellent breakfast. Dinner was a bit disappointing as we stayed on a Sunday and the only option was the limited Sunday Lunch Roasts menu which was not ideal for diabetics. My best option was to choose the burger - which was fine even though I didn't eat the bun - but the vegetables that came with my wife's roast chicken that I was hoping to use to fill up were a bit tired and overcooked. Friendly and helpful staff.

Liked: Excellent hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Evening meal and breakfast were extremely good, lots of choice and excellent service.
Disliked: nothing, our stay was above our expectations
