We loved the home (it feels like a home). Good service and right in the middle of everything. Rooms are spacious and very clean. I would return in the future.

Liked: Great local area; clean; spacious rooms.
Disliked: None.

Best kept Secret in Boston

Liked: My room was on the 5th floor. When you walk into your room, you feel like you went back in time, in the most positive way. The rooms are true to the name on the front of your door before you enter. Also, the vibe outside when you walk around is so nice friendly and safe. Great food in the area.

Just an ok hotel

Liked: The reception staff and location to train stop at Hawes Street
Disliked: If you stay in Room 9 on the top floor the bathroom is across the hall. I was advised in an email from Beacon Inn that I would be given a key so that I had sole use of the bathroom....AT NO POINT did anyone say that the 'Historic Charm' of the door needs to be preserved and that I wouldn't be given a key in fact it was confirmed in an email that I WOULD be given a key as I wanted to ensure no one else used the bathroom I had paid for !! Someone else had used the bathroom and had not flushed properly. Yuk !! A lock needs to be fitted to the outside of the bathroom door .....don't be so cheap. An area also needs to be provided inside the building for guests to eat their breakfast There is NO WHERE to eat in the Lobby !! and it's too cold to eat outside. Carrying hot coffee up the stairs to the top floor is a challenge and its an accident waiting to happen.

We were overall disappointed with...

Liked: The location was great.
Disliked: The room was extremely small and narrow with the double bed against the wall, the bathroom was not in the room but was down the hall. Booking.com did not make this clear when we booked the room that this would be the case or we would not have booked. Breakfast was also not as we expected, there was some pastries and kuerig coffee and no where to sit. The tv had all kinds of strange settings that we couldn't turn off (like voice narration or spanish) so we couldn't watch anything. The water never got warm in the shower and we didn't take showers the second day. We didn't bring this up with the staff but they initally didn't have a key for us that worked so we weren't confident they could help.

Liked: Adequate continental breakfast. Lovely comfy room and bed. Clean. We appreciated nearness to BU. And price and value for an expensive area. Also so glad for parking spot.

Great location but was disappointed...

Liked: Location was great. Housekeeping staff were great.
Disliked: Breakfast was minimal. There was no dining room to sit down in. Our closet had three window A/C units just stuffed in there, taking up a lot of room. Windows were drafty. Room was tiny and didn’t include an en suite bathroom. I was charged the same rate as my friends who had large rooms with adjoining baths.

Had a great time and...

Liked: Spacious clean rooms and super convenient location.
Disliked: Even though our room had its own bathroom, the community bathroom was behind a door that was connected to our room. It was locked and blocked by dresser so no issues there but you can absolutely hear everything. We were woken up at around 6 in the morning because someone decided to take a phone call and have it on speaker. My mom and I woke up to it so confused. But even with that you can hear anyone in that bathroom no matter the volume. The hotel is very nice, the staff is nice, and the location is great. Just wish it had better sound proofing, but I guess it can’t be helped with it being an old structure
