Great stay

Liked: The hotel is in a quiet, safe and convenient area. The lady at the front desk is lovely and highlighted a few must-visit places on a map, including a place not in my plan yet turns out to be the best.

good value and handy location...

Liked: When we arrived at the property we saw a keypad but we did not have a code so we were worried. We then realized that there was a buzzer that we could push so were buzzed in to the building. The staff that greeted us was very pleasant and she gave us a map with suggestions for dining etc. Our room was small but we had a king sized bed. The breakfast was tasty. The location was handy from the train station and to get to attractions like the Duomo. The area was not so picturesque but it was practical.

Liked: It is my favourite B&B in Florence. The room was clean. The hotel receptionist was courteous. She was a hard working Italian and it showed during my stay. I’d prefer to stay here rather than an expensive hotel. It only added to my positive experience in Italy.
Disliked: I have zero complaints about the property.

Staying at the Il Marzocco...

Liked: Our host Angela was very kind and helpful. She got fully checked in and settled the first morning. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room and bathroom were clean and large.
Disliked: Self check in after 4pm. It is hard to come to a new city and not be greeted / helped with getting settled.

Good location and comfortable

Liked: Efficient staff
Disliked: No lights on the ground floor or the 1st floor entrance door. Very difficult in the night. Few light bulbs is all that takes. Lift extremely slow and one has keep pressed the button for lift to move. Bigger room and bathroom would have made it a winner for me
