Sewer gas coming from sink...

Liked: We checked in just before 3pm on Sat.,Left to attend my wife’s 53rd class reunion 1/2 hr away.
Disliked: When we returned approx. 10 PM, opened our room door & shortly thereafter, my wife smelled sewer gas coming from the sink. I notified Nick at the counter, he talked to a maintenance person, brought a cup of ecliptic fluid & poured it down the sink & closed the stopper. We were tired & went to bed. During the night, my wife used the bath room & smelled the same in the bathroom. We closed that drain too. This morning, neither one of us could take a shower because it was emitting from both the bathroom & sink. We dressed, went to breakfast & talked with both the counter person & maintenance person to explain the continued problem. Since we were staying just 1 night & since we booked under a 3rd party, there was nothing he could do other than both he & us sending a note to Booking.com asking for compensation.
