Clean and quiet property for...
Liked: There were a lot of mixed reviews about this place. Honestly, I scoured the reviews before making a decision and decided to take the risk, as I often find midrange hotels that aren’t super fancy get a bad rap as most of the folks who review are people who were unsatisfied. Do not believe them. This is the best bang for your buck you will get in the area.- Room was very clean- Property is older, but not run down- Unlike many hotels in large cities right now, there appeared to be no unsanitary longterm guests who are essentially living there while experiencing homelessness and have pets- The price is a steal compared to the local Hilton brand in Greensburg (Hampton Inn) or Holiday Inn Express which were both over $150 per night in a small town. You can get rooms at the same hotels for the same price in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville, and those actually have reasons people go to those places. Most of the bad reviews are unjustified as of October 2024. This place is franchised through Wyndham by a family. When I walked in, there was no one at the desk, but I was directed to call on the phone to get the front desk person down there. It is clearly family run, and I’m certain the lady working the desk was also cleaning rooms. If you’ve ever done housekeeping, you know how hard that job is. Rooms are very clean and as long as you’re not there for some big event. It is VERY quiet. I was there on a Friday evening and they were almost empty. There’s not much in Greensburg, of course. The front desk staff was kind, rooms were extremely clean, and while I saw a roach trap behind the bed, no roaches in sight, and they are obviously addressing the issue. Perhaps most egregious is that many of the reviews have a hint of racism. Yes, there was a southern Asian grandmother there who spoke very little English. Yes, they are clearly either an Indian or Pakistani family.
Disliked: I don’t have many bad things to say about this place. Only “bad” things to note:- Yes, the pool is not available. It’s stated on this site and at the front desk though- Doors are a little thin. You can clearly hear people walking/talking in the hallway- I didn’t have breakfast, so cannot comment on thatOne thing to note if you are driving here: be extremely careful if you use Maps on iPhone to get to this place. I was detoured to the Rushville exit, as that’s where the property is, and due to how Booking.com has the address typed out, I was redirected to NORTH State Road 3, not South. I lost 45 minutes and was sent to the middle of a cornfield.
