Very nice stay in Leeuwarden

Liked: House sound isolation is good. Thick curtain, clean bed sheet. Friendly staff. Flexible checkin time.
Disliked: Out side window is a light, a bit too bright.

Liked: We stayed in many bastion hotels throughout Netherlands most of the rooms were a good size except one and all had fridges and great car parking
Disliked: Breakfast was too expensive and restaurant just okay often no where else close to eat our first two restaurant experiences in Hague and Haarlem were terrible

Liked: Parking was convenient, the space was right in front of the building. The receptionist on duty was warm, welcoming and cheerful. He anticipated our arrival and used my name before I could even mention it. The decor of the reception area was a nicely decorated “old fashioned classic” with flowers, I liked it a lot. I could tell from the building design, hallway and lifts that the building is old so entering our room (#70 2nd floor) was a pleasant surprise because it looked newly refurbished, everything inside the room seemed new from floor, paint, furnishings, bathroom and decor. The only thing that probably wasn’t new were the bed mattresses because I could tell from the quality of comfort it provided. Other than that, the bed covers and towels were all white, clean and fresh. The air conditioning worked well and wasn’t noisy. The water pressure and temperature of the shower and sink were good. Our check out experience was also gezellig because the receptionist on morning duty was also very friendly. We needed a comfortable room to stay overnight and that is what we got. Overall I would rate our stay as good.
Disliked: I would have preferred if there were napkins included in the coffee set up so that I didn’t have to use toilet roll sheets as coasters. Perhaps a water boiler could also be added and options for tea. It would also be nice of they could provide a suitcase rack so that unpacking/packing could be done more comfortably instead of bending to reach the floor.
