Peaceful setting, vast improvement required...

Liked: Absolutely stunning building, our standard dog friendly room was on the ground floor so very helpful with our fur babies. The room was bigger than I thought it was going to be. Very calming setting which is exactly what we needed. Dog poo bins provided and a little dog welcome box is a lovely little touch.
Disliked: Seemed under staffed. No one on reception on arrival so had to wait over 10 mins to check in.I pre booked for a surprise 3 course meal in our room at 6.30pm but due to hotel electrical issues I had to chase as over 30mins late with no communication to say issues with electrics causing miscommunication with kitchen. Ruined the surprise. The dinner we had definitely seemed to have been ‘sitting’ which was disappointing and as it was room service, I expected hot plate and covers to keep things covered and warm but all were open and exposed so got cold. The manager seemed stressed which I do understand but electrical issues are not guests issues. If the hotel was unable to accommodate what was agreed for dinner on time it would have been good to have known this as pay for something of better quality elsewhere. No salt and pepper or a question of any sauces, it was a dump and run vibe for both dinner and breakfast. Service massively needs improving. Considered as a wedding venue but have been put off. Would stay again but would eat elsewhere.

Good location, friendly staff, comfort...

Liked: Good location. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Sofa bed was very uncomfortable, it had very little support in the middle of the mattress so my son could not sleep on it. Main bed was also not very comfortable. Room was very warm, no air conditioning, but could open windows.

Liked: Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Perfect for our family gathering at Christmas. Very festive and spacious.
Disliked: Everything was perfect for us.

Great little stay just needs...

Liked: Room was comfortable and well serviced. Staff were lovely. We had a great dinner on the Saturday night and Monday morning plenty of breakfast. My daughter enjoyed the pool and in beautiful surroundings
Disliked: Too many stairs, I have limited mobility and struggled with this and no lift up to rooms. There's an airlock in rhe hot water system somewhere which when used sounds like someone is drilling. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was not great.

Disliked: The Wi-Fi was absolutely appalling which meant the tv constantly buffered - very annoying and almost unusable The room needed a refurb - tatty bathroom
