Liked: Position for a family party
Disliked: The property is in need of a deed clean and a lot of TLC. There was no hair dryer to be found in that the hotel in fact l was told they didn’t have hairdryers despite it saying on the description of the bedroom “a hairdryer in each room “ the heating wasn’t working in the bedroom, the windows didn’t lock, l couldn’t turn the shower on and there was mould on the shower screen. The door on the wardrobe was broken and the room smelt either of pets or smoke. It was very noisy and the television in the family room didn’t work. The receptionist couldn’t do anything about it. The receptionist was the only member of staff in the hotel which is a big safety issue for her.

Disliked: The front looked like it had been bombed . It smelled heavily of smoke . There was no heating in the room in the middle of winter . The door in the bathroom had fist marks . The lights didn’t work properly . The shower was way too hot - scalding

Liked: The fact they changed the initial room paid for paid for king and asked for not a specifc king room, I was given the room I visually didnt like; they changed the room and It was much better; staff were ok; albeit they battle with the condition of the hotel; that is either on a long refurb waiting list or being ran until disposed of as an asset within mercure hotel group asset
Disliked: the pricing for the condition the main boards left it in; and the booking platform doesnt seem to have audit processed the property to be gaining a commision; the staff are having to assure persons that some rooms have been refurbed. I stayed due to business matters where personally i have to stay in hotels in my home area of more than 15 years; The group board need to review their operational costs across energy to enable extra costs for staff to have supply chain cleaning The building also has mold and asbestos; This hotel used to be really well kept pre 2020 from what i recall and in a good location for business travellers

Wouldn’t go again

Disliked: The rooms and corridors stunk of weed and cigarettes. Snot and brown stuff up the walls and hairs in the bath. After changing rooms the others were just as bad. One was apparently refurbished. We slept and ran. After making a complaint there was no resolution.

Liked: Bathroom and bedsheets were clean.
Disliked: The room smelled bad, smelt like dirt and smoking, even though it was meant to be a nonsmoking room. The carpet was disgusting had stains all over it. The chairs looked too grimy to touch. Could hear other customers being loud most of the night, when we did fall asleep we got woken up by a very loud fire alarm for a few seconds, which we're told by other customers happened twice the night before too.

Liked: I asked for a first floor as i have mobility issues but was put on the second and a long walk and it did cause me problems, also the tv didnt work but luckily i had my laptop, they did offer to come and look though, i stay here a lot and have always felt safe and comfortable and good value for money.
